Work in a single piece.

Cast on 131 sts. with knitting needles No. 31/2 and work 6 rows in garter st., equivalent to 1,5 cm. Cont. as follows: 6 garter sts., 116 leaf sts. following the chart and working 3 dec. in Row 1, 6 garter sts. for 30 rows, equivalent to 11 cm. (= 128 sts. ). At the same time as Row 15 of the leaf stitch, work in 1 buttonhole of 2 sts in the interior of the first 2 garter sts. and then work in another 4 buttonholes in the same position at 18 rows from each other. Cont. as follows: 6 rows work over all the sts. in garter st., equivalent to 1,5 cm; for 16 rows work the first and the last 6 sts in garter st. and the remaining centre sts. in knitted st., equivalent to 6 cm. At the same time dec. at the sides, in the interior of the 6 garter sts. of the buttoning cable, 1 st. every 8 rows 5 times (= 118 sts. ).
